Transpire, Inc. has a number of opportunities for NAHRO members and other interested parties to participate in our mission. For additional  information, see below or contact Dionne Roberts at droberts@nahro.org

Ways to get Involved

Serve as a Mentor

Through the Access Alliance and other vehicles, Transpire works with a number of agencies who could benefit from having a peer mentor.  Mentors are connected with an agency by mutual agreement, and make a one year commitment to talk with that agency on at least a monthly basis. Opportunities for mentorship come up on a regular basis, and those interested should contact Dionne Roberts at droberts@nahro.org.

Serve as a Consultant

Through the Access Alliance and other vehicles, Transpire often provides professsional expertise to NAHRO member agencies through consultants and other fee-for-service professsionals.  These engagements are made with consultants who have submitted their credentials through the RFQ process and been pre-evaluated.  Those interested in submitting their qualifications for consideration should review the documents below and provide their package via email to droberts@nahro.org or via post as advised.

Serve in our Leadership

The Transpire Board of Directors is appointed by the President of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials. Based on the by-laws of Transpire, the nine Board seats are as follows:

  1. The Board Chair shall be the Senior Vice-President of NAHRO
  2. The Board Secretary/Treasurer shall be the Executive Director of NAHRO
  3. One seat shall be held by the Chair of NAHRO's Budget and Administration Committee
  4. One seat shall be held by a former NAHRO President, which expires every two years in an odd year
  5. Three additional seats shall expire every two years in an even year (2006)
  6. Two additional seats shall expire every two years in an odd year (2007)

Due to the small size of the Board, turnover is relatively low. However, those interested in participating should speak with the Board Chair and/or NAHRO President.
