About the Access Alliance
The Access Alliance Can Help Your Agency Succeed
Through the Access Alliance combined resources, NAHRO housing
and community development member agencies gain nationwide access to:
• Two decades of experience in growing and developing successful,
locally based, public-
purpose neighborhood revitalization efforts;
• Specialized "how-to-do-it" education and training; and
• Private capital at competitive rates and terms to advance acquisition,
development and
redevelopment undertakings.
Agencies that can benefit most include:
• Agencies seeking to expand their capacity for housing development
and neighborhood
revitalization beyond traditional public and assisted
housing activities;
• Agencies attempting to address particular housing or redevelopment needs in their
communities;
• Agencies that have been presented with specific development opportunities and need
help in evaluating and determining how to proceed most effectively; and
• Agencies willing and able to invest talent and resources in their future and their
communities.
Capital Access Program
The Access Alliance gives qualified housing and community
development agencies access to capital to meet a variety of local development
needs including:
• Developing/expanding affordable rental housing, special needs housing and related
services;
• Preserving affordable housing;
• Acquiring vacant land, building and other facilities to develop as affordable housing and/or
commercial use;
• Developing homeownership programs;
• Revitalizing neighborhoods; and
• Enhancing urban economic development through retail revitalization,
quality mixed-use
developments, and initiatives that expand family-wage
jobs and other related programs.
Access Capacity Program
The Access Alliance can provide your agency with access to appropriate training and technical assistance opportunities related to current or future needs. These opportunities may include:
• Existing programs offered by Alliance organizations
• Specialized training developed by Alliance organizations
• Consulting/technical assistance related to goal setting and/or specific development
opportunities
PLEASE NOTE: There are fees associated with utilizing the services of the Access Alliance. NAHRO members using the Capital Access program pay a $50 fee per deal submission. NAHRO members using Access Capacity pay 10% of the market value of assistance provided, as determined by Transpire, or $500, whichever is higher.
